Going strong!

It's been about 5 weeks now since I started this crazy adventure. I've lost a grand total of 50 pounds in that 5 weeks! I'm down to 150, and a size 12! When I began I wore a size 18. All of the withdrawl symptoms have long dissappeared, and my cravings have changed. I no longer crave sugar. I do occassionally crave caffein, but I no longer have caffein headaches. This past week I cheated a few times, I went out on the town a couple times, so I drank alcohol and pop. Lots of calories:( No big deal though, I didn;t gain any weight because of it, and it's nice to know that I can do this occassionally without any dire effects!

One great side-effect of the weight loss, is that I can walk much easier without my brace on. My left ankle and foot are damaged because of a faulty back suegery that I had a little over a year ago, and I cannot lift my foot at the ankle. The muscles in my calf and ankle are severely diminished due to non-use. At 200 pounds, I broke my ankle twice because the muscles couldn;t support my weight. I still won't leave my house without the brace, too risky. But I have a feeling that pretty soon I may be able to start going on walks without the brace, strengthen my muscles, and eventually do away with the brace all together!
